Ho diverse foto trappole Coolifepro e devo dire che l'ultima che ho provato (PH960W) mi ha lasciato molto soddisfatto. Le immagini e i filmati sono veramente di buona qualità sia di giorno che di notte. Avendo il LED da 850 nm risulta visibile di notte e pertanto non è adeguata per la sorveglianza di immobili. Il pannellino solare garantisce una costante ricarica diurna della batteria da 2000mW permettendo di lasciare la foto trappola nel bosco per lungo tempo senza doverla ricaricare.
Sono rimasto sorpreso positivamente che la completa gestione dell'apparecchio avviene solamente con un app dedicata installabile sul telefono o tablet. Tale soluzione garantisce una maggiore impermeabilità...
Il collegamento con il telefono (tramite Bluetooth e Wifi) è veloce e affidabile; ho avuto modo di sperimentare che può avvenire anche a distanze superiori a 20m.
Rispetto alle altre foto trappole la PH960W ha il sensore di rilevamento in alto e l'obiettivo in basso quindi come primo impatto sembra di installarla al contrario...
Nella parte inferiore sono presenti un interruttore a levetta (off, test, on), l'alloggio della micro SD e una porta USB-C per l'eventuale ricarica della foto trappola e per il collegamento del pannellino solare.
Come per tutte le foto trappole Coolifepro viene fornita di tutto quanto serve per un'immediata installazione (micro SD da 32 Gb, supporto per fissare il pannellino fotovoltaico, cinghia per fissare la foto trappola oltre ovviamente ad un manuale d'istruzioni in diverse lingue molto ben fatto).
Secondo me, è questione di abitudini, manca la possibilità di mettere in sicurezza la foto trappola dai furti, lucchetto per l'apparecchio stesso e per la micro SD. Avrei separato fisicamente la gomma che protegge, nella parte inferiore, l'interruttore e la micro SD dalla porta USB in quanto quest'ultima deve sempre essere disponibile per collegare il pannello solare. Trovo un po' difficoltosa l'estrazione della micro SD quando la foto trappola non è installata in alto.
Concludendo la ritengo un'ottima foto trappola, il rapporto costo/qualità è eccellente e spesso la si trova anche in offerta.
I chose this camera trap especially for the rechargeable battery and the solar panel that certainly make it more eco-friendly and with zero costs of use.
I must say that both the camera and the panel are very compact and robust and I was very surprised by the quality of the videos, both day and night (real 1080) are very clear and well lit, especially at night the IR LEDs and the exposure adapt instantly even to strong changes.
The camera trap is very simple to use, it only has an ON/TEST/OFF switch.
All the settings are made from the TRAILCAM GO application that can be installed directly from the store.
From what I understand, the WIFI is always off and only turns on when the application connects to the cameras via Bluetooth, I tried at a distance of about 20 meters and it worked perfectly.
It can connect to the smartphone even during normal operation and you can change the settings or check the recorded files without having to touch the camera trap, very useful in case of timelapse or fixing in difficult to access places.
It has three shooting modes:
- with motion sensor (PIR) from 1 to 5 photos and/or videos from 5 sec to 10 min (motion filter with detection area selectable from the application)
- timed, photos and/or videos at a minimum interval of 3 seconds
- timelapse, automatically creates a 1080 30fps video (real 2 fps) and does not save the photos. Both the shooting interval (min 3 seconds) and the length of the generated file (5 sec – 10 min) can be set
On the date/time bar, next to the battery charge percentage symbol, there is an icon that warns if the camera trap is charging, and also appears in the shots, very useful for understanding at what time the sun hits the solar panel and being able to adjust it as best as possible.
The solar panel charges about 200mAh (1w) in full sun and has a cable of about 1.50m with USB type C connector.
With an external power supply it charges completely in a couple of hours (5V 1000mAh).
In addition to the fastening strap for the camera trap, there is an adjustable support for the solar panel with a 1/4” screw and three-screw fastening that can also be used to mount and orient the camera.
The micro SD supplied is a LEXAR High-Performance 633x microSDHC BLUE Series 32Gb.
Very efficient MP4 video codec, in 1080 mode it takes up about one mega per second, with the 32Gb memory it is more than 8 hours of recordings.
I performed a timelapse of the sky with photos every 5 seconds with 1 minute of video (120 shots) it takes up about 20Mb, with 32Gb you can record more than 10 days, for much slower events such as plants and flowers we are talking about several months of recording.
